OBI Property has announced event ticket search business TickX will be moving its HQ into 3,027 sq ft in Tower 12, Spinningfields, Manchester.

The company, which just over twelve months ago famously turned down offers of investment from three of the Dragons on BBC TV programme Dragons Den has just announced a Series A funding round of £3 million, led by BGF Ventures. They will be moving into the larger premises from its current location at the Hive on Lever Street due to its planned growth.

Founded in 2015 by Steve Pearce and Sam Coley, TickX brings together events from 50+ ticket sellers, including Ticketmaster, Headout and Skiddle, into one place, so users can compare prices and get the best deal for their night out. The company recently launched its service in Spain and Ireland and has plans to further grow internationally, as well as expanding its UK HQ and operation.

Steve Pearce, founder, TickX said: “We’ve enjoyed our time in the Northern Quarter and the space has worked brilliantly for us but because TickX is expanding so quickly we decided to move into workspace where we can start to create our own environment.  Tower 12 fits the bill perfectly as we continue to grow and become the one-stop global destination for entertainment-lovers across the world looking for the best tickets. It was a great experience working with OBI Property, helping to save us both time and money.”

Andrew Cowell, transactions and asset management, OBI Property said: “TickX is a fantastic success story and shows how home grown tech based businesses, operating internationally are thriving and growing in Manchester and importantly we have the quality workspace to offer them.”
