About us

Lisa Ashurst set up Ashurst Communications in 2009 and we became a Limited Company in 2012.

Lisa works with a range of businesses and organisations, including both private and public sectors.  You can find out more about our client work in the portfolio section of the website.  She is very experienced and has built long lasting relationships with key players in property, construction and the media.

Formerly Lisa was head of communications at award winning regeneration company Urban Splash, in the six years she worked there her role changed radically.  Emerging from a small regional developer to a nationally recognised brand the ever changing and fast paced environment required an adaptable, flexible and fully integrated public relations function which she led throughout and which has given her the sound foundations on which to build Ashurst Communications.

Responsible for all public relations strategy and communications activity, both externally and internally, Lisa reported directly to the chairman and other main board directors.  As the company grew she managed and trained a communications manager and six regional assistants.

Her work in communications has won nine awards.  She is particularly proud of receiving the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Pride Awards 2007 Presidents Grand Prix Award for the Urban Splash upside down housing scheme, Chimney Pot Park at Langworthy, Salford.

Before joining Urban Splash, Lisa worked for Laing Construction (now Laing O’Rourke) on some of Manchester’s most high profile building projects including the Metrolink extension to Eccles and Salford Quays; the rebuilding of the Arndale Foodcourt following the 1996 bomb; the remodelling of Piccadilly Station and the City of Manchester Stadium for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Lisa has a masters degree in public relations and is a trustee Inner City Music, the owner and operator of Band on the Wall.  She is a proud Mancunian, avid music fan and Manchester City Football Club supporter.
